Edge sealing

protection of the road edge areas
Edge sealing in road construction refers to sealing the edges of the road to protect the asphalt shoulder from water penetrating from the side. This is important to ensure the durability and stability of the road. After the asphalt layers have been laid, the higher edges - both edges in twisting areas - are sealed. Sealing is usually done with hot bitumen, which is applied precisely using modern spray equipment. Before application, the surface must be carefully cleaned and dry to ensure good adhesion of the bitumen.
